Meet the Team

Known for founding Godfather Entertainment, the parent company of Death Row Records, Michael R. “Harry-O” Harris helped launch the legendary careers of hip-hop artists like Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, and Tupac Shakur. 

 

Prior to creating the legendary Music Label, Mr. Harris founded 11 different businesses by age 26, including Beverly Hills Leasing, Kartier Limousine Service, and Telesis Construction, which built several shopping centers, restaurants and apartment buildings throughout Los Angeles.

 

In addition to his work with Death Row, Mr. Harris established Keeping the Dream Alive Productions, which produced the award-winning documentary Welcome to Death Row, chronicling the rise and impact of the iconic record label. Mr. Harris is the host of the highly anticipated annual pre-Grammy event, A Global Affair, which showcases emerging international artists.

 

Mr. Harris received a presidential pardon in 2021 and has continued to dedicate his efforts to entertainment, media, business, and philanthropy. He celebrates the long-awaited resurgence of Godfather Entertainment, which was re-established in 2023, and serves as Chief Operating Officer of the new Death Row Records. Harris also hosts the annual pre-Grammy event, A Global Affair, which showcases emerging international artists.

 

Beyond his remarkable achievements in the entertainment and entrepreneurial worlds, Harris is widely recognized as an activist deeply committed to social and political activism. Holding the title of Chief Spokesman for Our Community First, a nonprofit dedicated to uplifting underserved communities through civic engagement initiatives, including a nationwide concert series. As Chief Spokesman, Mr. Harris champions issues and policies surrounding Prison Reform and School Choice. While being intentional about making a lasting impact, he is dedicated to highlighting initiatives that promote economic advancement. Mr. Harris also spearheaded The Opportunity Plan (The O-Plan) to advocate for equitable opportunities and second chances for all Americans- a mission that gained the support of President-elect Donald J. Trump. 

 

As a seasoned Private Equity professional, Mr. Harris has strategically partnered with some of the nation’s leading developers to manage and invest in real estate through top-tier private equity firms. His work has consistently focused on the acquisition, development, and long-term management of high-value real estate assets.
