The Opportunity Fund Association advocates and strives to improve the Opportunity Zone program for the benefit of all its participants. It coalesces the entire Opportunity Zone ecosystem including community partners, opportunity funds and the businesses that support Opportunity Zone economic development across the country.
In its effort to educate stakeholders and assure the OZ program becomes a permanent and productive element of the U.S. economic development and job creation fabric, OFA:
- convenes productive meetings and symposia among Opportunity Zone funds and community partners and economic development organizations;
- develops grassroots lobbying initiatives to highlight community demand and support for OZ projects;
- executes direct lobbying strategies to educate policy makers;
- provides clear and accurate public education about Opportunity Zones’ community benefits;
- creates networking activities and events to promote OZ business development and community growth; and
- manages an affiliated political action committee to support federal candidates who also believe in the promise and benefits of Opportunity Zones.
As Congress debates the future of this program there has never been a more important time for clear information and a united industry speaking with a single definitive voice.
